The Dreamspell is the harmonic calendar created by José Argüelles in 1987, based on the 260-day sacred Mayan Tzolkin calendar. It combines 20 Solar Seals and 13 Galactic Tones, creating 260 unique Kins. ANIMUNDI implements both the Dreamspell method (with leap year correction) and the traditional Long Count method.
Your Kin is calculated from your birth date. In the Dreamspell method, starting from the reference date of July 26, 1987, the elapsed days are counted, excluding February 29. The result modulo 260 gives your Kin number, from which the Seal (modulo 20) and Tone (modulo 13) are derived.
